Acne is a very common skin condition characterised by spots that can be itchy and pus filled. It occurs mainly in 3 areas: face, body and chest. We offer Fractora to improve the appearance and health of acne prone skin.
There are 6 main types of acne including blackheads, whiteheads, papules, pustules, nodules and cysts. They can occur for multiple reasons – see our acne page for more information.
Elixir Cosmetics offers skin rejuvenation treatments like Fractora to help patients who are unhappy with the visual and emotional effects of having active acne or acne scarring. This device can also be used to reduce deep wrinkles and for skin resurfacing.
Fractora skin treatment is a fractional rejuvenation and resurfacing treatment that restores skin to its youthful appearance. It uses radio frequency energy which heats the deep layers of the skin in a controlled way to revitalise the collagen.
This treatment can improve skin complexion and texture for a more radiant and youthful appearance. It is minimally invasive, using a matrix of micro-pins to resurface and restore the skin, providing exceptional results with almost no patient downtime.
At Elixir Cosmetics we use Fractora because it offers our patients the best results with minimal downtime. The treatment is tried and tested and we’re delighted to offer it to our patients.
This type of treatment is helpful for both patients with acne and those left with the scarring caused by acne. We can help patients of all ages and genders who wish to improve their skin health after or during acne and spot breakouts.
We see both male and female patients that wish to rejuvenate their skin and reduce acne with Fractora.
This advanced device works by causing the skin to contract. During treatment the skin resurfacing device uses pulses of radio frequency energy to tighten, resurfaces and smooth the skin along with micro needles to work deep into the dermis. It usually takes 60+ minutes and 1-3 sessions are most commonly recommended.
It’s effective and offers great results for those with acne and spot prone skin; it’s also suitable for deeper wrinkles that need reducing. Visible results can be seen immediately, but typically after two weeks the most noticeable results appear.
Improvements continue up to three months after treatment. For some patients, a combination of skin rejuvenation treatments may be the best option, so it’s important to book a consultation.
It’s usually comfortable with topical creams using to numb the area. Your skin may feel sensitive straight after treatment and full recovery can take up to 2 weeks. There may also be some temporary redness, bruising and discolouration to the skin.
Depending on your treatment regime you can expect to have between 1-3 sessions but this will be discussed in full at your complimentary consultation with your therapist.
Fractora can also be combined with additional energy treatments or injectables to achieve a more extensive full-face result, called a FracTotal Facial. Ask us about this.
Patients should moisturise the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. It is also recommended that patients use a good, broad spectrum sunscreen every day. In addition to reducing their future risk of skin cancer, sunscreens also reduce wrinkles and slow the ageing process.
Since patient downtime is minimal, makeup can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment. Patients should expect to see micro lesions a few days after treatment and slight redness for up to 1 week depending on treatment parameters.
